ECLE - European Course for Life Sciences Executives

The European Course for Life Sciences Executive ECLE is conceived as an interactive Course for Life Sciences managers who prepare for leadership positions and seek an intensive preparation and repetition for how to effectively run a successful enterprise or department. The concept of ECLE comprises high level interactive half day lectures on relevant life sciences industry topics on the one hand and individual Leadership Projects developed by each of the participants on the other.

Learning Methods

The topics of the full day sessions including evening workshops comprise Financial Management, Intellectual Property and Licensing, Business Development, Pricing, Marketing and Sales, Leadership and Social Competence in Drug Product Research, Development and Regulation and the CEO role model.

Together with the theories and tools covered in this course, participants will achieve their vision in their own enterprise. Each participant will select an issue on which she/he will work between the two course modules. The participation at this ‘leadership project’ will be a prerequisite to receive the certification.

Certification

ECLE is a formal postgraduate Course at the University Basel, a collaboration of ECPM, European Center of Pharmaceutical Medicine and the WWZ, Center for Economics and Business Management. The participation at the ‘leadership project’ (see above) will be a prerequisite to receive the certification by the Advanced Study Centre of the University of Basel. The course can be used as a compulsory module to achieve a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Drug Development Sciences at University of Basel.
